Residential Driving Course Overview

Our Residential Driving Courses typically take place over one week, with your test at the end of it. This usually involves 5 hours of driving per day, leaving you plenty of time to explore. Your test is typically held on the afternoon of the final day. However, this can be tailored to suit your individual needs. We’ll book your test and accommodation so that you can focus on driving. Whether you already have some driving experience or are planning to sit behind the wheel for the first time, we’ll help you decide the number of hours you’ll require. If you have any questions about our Residential Driving Courses, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

To have your Practical Driving Test at the end of the Residential Driving Course, you must have a current Theory Test certificate. If you intend to undertake intensive driving lessons, please book your theory test as soon as you are ready and confident.

Testimonials: What Our Customers Had To Say

James From Belfast says:

I had my first driving lesson on my 17th birthday and was determined to pass as quickly as I could. Unfortunately after trying multiple different driving schools and instructors I just didn’t feel that I was learning what I needed. I felt that I was wasting money, the instructor’s time and more importantly wasting my time. I was not getting anywhere. So in short, I gave up and didn’t bother with the driving lessons again until my mid-thirties.

I managed to get away with this, until I had a major need to have the ability to drive and get around as I was required to travel with my job. So I started looking around at ‘intense residential driving courses’ and one of the many companies I spoke to was Pass Drive. After speaking to other companies and to be honest, being left confused and not really getting anywhere, I got speaking to David Watt.

Requirements

My requirements were unfortunately not ‘off the shelf’. I had specific goals that I wanted to achieve within specific a specific time-frame. Immediately I found that David had a keen interest in listening to my requirements and putting a course together to meet those requirements. He was genuine, open, honest and put the cards on the table for me therefore I knew this was the guy to train me and we arranged everything the same day.

I travelled over to Scotland from my home in Northern Ireland for a one week intensive residential driving course with David. I arrived on the Saturday and that afternoon got into the car for the first time. By the same time the following Saturday afternoon I had completed the course, sat my driving test and passed first time.

Summary

The thing I found with David (that I did not find with any instructors/driving schools in my previous driving lessons) was that David did not teach me to pass the test, he taught me to be a safe, confident & courteous driver.

To this day I still use David’s methods and I could not recommend anyone better than David. If you need someone that will meet (and exceed) your requirements, David is the guy that gets the job done.

Debbie from Hong Kong:

An online search on Google for a residential driving course led me to David Watt at Pass Drive. We live in Hong Kong and were looking for a course close to St Andrew’s where our elder daughter was studying.

Our younger daughter is now studying much further away in Bath but we did not hesitate to contact David again.

I cannot speak highly enough of him; his professionalism, enthusiasm and his great teaching ability.

Both our daughters passed first time after only one week under David’s tuition. He shared a wealth of knowledge with the girls and ensured it was an enjoyable and successful experience. He goes above and beyond what is required of a driving instructor.

Both girls emphasise that David taught them to be good drivers and not just to pass the test, and they speak very fondly of the time spent with David.

Lindsey from London:

I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Pass Drive to anyone on a journey to achieving their driving license.

I achieved more in the first 5 hours under David’s instruction than I did in a previous 15 hours of driving.

David focuses on making you a good, safe and considerate road user whilst simultaneously undoing any bad habits you may have picked along the way.

Not only one of the most qualified instructors, a preeminent expert on driving, but also someone who’s dedicated to solving any problems that have been preventing you getting on the road.

A patient approach. I encourage you to book with Pass Drive if you are serious about becoming a great driver. You won’t find better.
