Advanced Driving

Our Advanced driving course is designed to increase your road knowledge, awareness, confidence and safety. We use tried and tested techniques as shown in Roadcraft (The police driver’s handbook). The course helps with new driving strategies designed to encourage better concentration, observations and anticipation. Whether you are an experienced driver or even a new driver, the sessions will help develop your skills to a much higher level.

Pass Drive advanced driving instructors hold diplomas in advanced driving instruction from RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents). Some are qualified IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) instructors and they can coach you through all the aspects of advanced driving to the point where you can then take the advanced test.

Our goal is to create safer, more competent drivers by driving with confidence but still have the ability to take control at all times.

With our structured course we will provide you with feedback and guidance on your driving habits. You will learn new skills that will help you to anticipate hazards earlier allowing more time to react. This in turn reduces risks and helps you become a more systematic and disciplined road user.

Your first session on the course will consist of a risk assessment. This allows your instructor to formulate a plan with you for the remaining sessions.

You will be provided with a detailed report and guide at the end of each session. This report will outline which areas of your driving you would gain benefit from more practice. As a qualified driver this practice can be done independently.
